Beatles fans of all ages are invited to enjoy the 4th Annual Tribute to John Lennon and the Beatles at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 6 in the River Falls Public Library’s lower level community room.
For the fourth year in a row, local poet and musician Thomas R. Smith has organized this entertaining poetry reading and music performance to honor Beatle John Lennon. Readings will be by Smith, Margarita Hendrickson (reading poems by Tom Hendrickson), and humorous John Lennon pieces read by Tom McClelland.
“The Band” consists of Smith and Doug Wilson on guitars and vocals, Ken Thatcher percussion, and a three-piece backup chorus featuring Nancy Miller, Krista Spieler and Kathy Ward. Singing along is encouraged.
Smith's small poetry book The Night We Saved the Beatles will be for sale for $5. Proceeds from book sales will be donated to the aid organization, International Rescue Committee.
