The Play’s the Thing! Don’t Miss it
Tragedy, comedy, history, sex, murder and mayhem, ghosts, hauntings, mistaken identities, teen angst, fairies and magic, clever turns of phrase---it’s all here in Shakespeare! And what better place for a Shakespearean festival than the public library?
“No Fear Shakespeare” starts Thursday, September 11 at 7 p.m. at the River Falls Public Library as Optimist Theatre actor Ron Scot Fry brings to life the most famous playwright in the English language.
To Be! Shakespeare Here and Now is an interactive presentation that combines dynamic interpretations of some of Shakespeare’s most famous works with a humorous look at life in Renaissance England.
The program is free and will be held in the library’s lower level community room.
A Wisconsin Humanities Council grant to Optimist Theatre helps offset the cost of Fry’s appearance at the library.
The festival continues through the fall with a variety of offerings sure to please Shakespeare aficionados and those who’ve only heard good things about his plays.
