The Bicycle Patrol was initiated in 1995 and at this time includes three bicycles and trained bicycle patrol officers.
The advantages to a bicycle patrol program include closer community contact, increased visibility, a quiet approach, low cost, and the expanded area bicycles can cover.
Bicycle Patrol enhances access to areas of the City that are not easily accessible by the patrol car.
Bicycle safety classes are conducted in City elementary schools each year. These classes cover the importance of helmet use, equipment checks and general bicycle rules. A bicycle rodeo focusing on safe bicycling is held each summer. Please call the Police Department at 715-425-0909 for further information.
